Enthusiastic pupils at a school near Wrexham got an insight into politics when Clwyd South Assembly Member Ken Skates paid a visit.
Children at Eyton Primary invited their AM into school to talk about the upcoming General Election and how their politicians represent them Friday (May 1).
Mr Skates, also the Welsh Government’s Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, said: “It was brilliant visiting the school again and meeting so many enthusiastic children with a genuine interest in the election and politics in general at such a young age.
“The pupils are holding a mock election on May 7 and had a lot of great questions on how it all works – it really seems to have caught their imagination. I hope I was able to help them understand the democratic process a bit better.”
Labour AM Mr Skates added: “It will be a few years before any of the pupils can vote, but I was delighted to see so many wanting to find out more about who represents them and how.”
