I welcome the announcement that a £1.25m redevelopment of Corwen’s health centre will get under way in the spring, which is fantastic news for patients in the town.
After pressing hard for improved facilities for my constituents, I was delighted to receive a commitment from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board earlier this year that plans to modernise the premises were in the pipeline.
It has now been confirmed that the makeover will include extra GP consultation rooms, improved waiting areas and a new dental suite, with work due be completed in early 2018. A range of community services will also be based in the new-look building, including health visitors and district nursing.
I pledged to help deliver continued spending on health and social services in our communities if re-elected as Clwyd South AM, and I’d like to thank BCUHB chief executive Gary Doherty for listening to my plea on behalf of the people of Corwen.
