Assembly Member Ken Skates has welcomed news that Brymbo could soon have its post office back.
The Labour AM for Clwyd South said he was ‘delighted’ after the Post Office announced today (Tuesday, November 5) it hoped to reopen the village’s branch at a new location, the Enterprise Centre on Blast Road, in January.
From today members of the community, which lost its post office in May, will have six weeks to give their views on the plans – and Mr Skates is urging people to have their say before they are rubber-stamped.
He said: “I have been in regular contact with the Post Office since the Brymbo branch closed in May seeking answers on behalf of my constituents, and I am delighted with today’s announcement. The fact that these vital services could soon be restored to the community is fantastic news.
“Members of the public have until December 17 to give their comments on the plans and air any concerns they might have, so it’s important the people who will be using this service have their say. The Post Office is particularly keen to hear people’s views on the proposed location and its accessibility.”
The proposal is part of the largest investment programme in the Post Office’s history, which will see 6,000 branches modernised over three years.
