ASSEMBLY Member Ken Skates is calling on shops in Llangollen to get into the festive spirit by taking part in a Christmas competition.
Clwyd South AM Mr Skates is encouraging traders to compete for the title of best-dressed window display to coincide with the town’s annual Christmas festival.
Judging will take place the week before the festival, which is on Saturday, November 30, and there will be two categories – retail/commercial and charity/not for profit. The winners will be announced on festival day.
Labour AM Mr Skates said: “Being based in Llangollen I get to see the many events and initiatives the town puts on throughout the year which make it such a special place, and the Christmas festival is one of my favourites.
“Although the countdown to Christmas is only just beginning, I would encourage shops and businesses in the town to embrace the festive spirit and dress their windows to impress. It’s a good, fun competition and makes the town look even more welcoming to visitors.”
Businesses wanting further information on the competition are asked to contact the town clerk on 01978 861345.
