Assembly Member Ken Skates paid tribute to his predecessor after a sneak preview of Llangollen’s new multi-million pound health facility.
The Clwyd South AM enjoyed a look round the new GP centre on the site of the former River Lodge hotel on Thursday (July 30) during a public open day.
Mr Skates said: “It was a very well-attended event, and I’m grateful to the health board for organising it to allow residents of Llangollen to have a look around this fantastic new facility.
“I’m delighted that the health board, the practice and the Welsh Labour Government have worked together to make this happen.”
Welsh Labour AM Mr Skates has previously praised Brymbo-based builders Read Construction for their ‘fantastic job’ on the centre, which is due to open on August 24.
He added: “I would also like to pay tribute to my predecessor Karen Sinclair, who worked incredibly hard for a very long time to bring this health centre to Llangollen.
“She deserves a huge amount of credit for insuring we have such a state-of-the-art facility to serve the town for many years to come.”
