ASSEMBLY Member Ken Skates gave pupils top marks after hearing about their ‘fantastic’ work to help crack down on littering.
Mr Skates, the Labour AM for Clwyd South, visited Ysgol Min y Ddol in Cefn Mawr on Friday (January 10) to talk to Year 5 and 6 children who have been taking part in a project to highlight the problem in their village.
He said: “It was great to visit the school and meet the pupils behind this fantastic project. The children have been working on this since September and have filmed litter in the village and talked to local residents.
“They then went down to Cardiff before Christmas and gave a presentation to Assembly Members about their findings, and had the chance to ask us what could be done to help alleviate the problem. They a brilliant job, and I know my colleague in the Senedd were equally impressed.”
Mr Skates added: “Littering blights our communities and I am delighted our young people are making a stand and trying to do something about it. They are a credit to the school and the wider area and they should be very proud of themselves.”
