Assembly Member Ken Skates praised staff at a village nursery after an ‘extremely positive’ first-ever Estyn report.
The Labour AM for Clwyd South paid tribute to the team at Welsh-medium Cylch Meithrin Glyn Ceiriog, which has 18 pre-school children on its roll, after inspectors rated both its current performance and prospects for future improvement as ‘good’.
Mr Skates said: “This is an extremely positive report which highlights many areas in which the nursery excels – I’m sure the staff and parents are delighted.
“The inspectors noted that children are making good progress in their learning; that they are happy and secure and that the relationships between them and the staff are good. There is plenty to be pleased about here.
“I was glad to see the report also state that the care, support and guidance the children receive is good and that the team of four who run the group work very well together and have a clear focus on providing the best provision for the children.
“All in all, it’s a great report. I’m sure the parents and wider community will also be delighted that their children are in safe hands. Well done all.”
